Tufcot is an internationally recognised brand for both our Tufcot® materials as well as the products we manufacture and engineer to dispatch to our customers all over the world.

We have been planning for the end to the Brexit transition period for many years, and as of the 1st of January 2021, the UK is no longer a part of the EU.

Brexit and Tufcot

We just wanted to give you all some key information on how this has affected Tufcot and the changes that have or may occur in the months to come.

Firstly, the trade deal that was agreed between the EU and the UK towards the end of the transition period was a welcome relief for Tufcot and for all our European customers.

This meant that there would be zero tariffs on Tufcot® materials and products. This gave us and our customers the confidence to continue trading with no actual delivered goods tariffs on our products.

Trade Agreement

As with any large change in the trade relationship between one large nation and another large union of countries, there were always inevitably going to be some situations that needed either clarity from the UK’s side or confirmation of the correct way to work under the new rules and regulations.

After six weeks of working under these new rules and regulations, Tufcot have seen a minimal effect on our agreed dispatch dates, not only for our customers but from our Suppliers.

This allows our customers the confidence that their goods will be shipped as agreed on their order confirmations.

There have, however, been a few issues of our products taking longer to reach their destinations and with some increased transport costs. If any customer has an instance of this then our Dispatch team will investigate alternative options for you.

These delays are in no way a reflection on Tufcot’s on-time delivery performance which at the start of 2021 remains at over 99% for on time agreed delivery dates.

Confidence for the Future

As Tufcot have worked internationally for over 35 years now, we have the experience and knowledge of how to deal with different trade agreements and relationships.

Tufcot have every confidence that as the months go on, the Brexit situation and trading with the EU will improve further from where it is now.

If you have any questions on Brexit or any other trade agreements or arrangements, then please e-mail us at info@tufcot.com where your request will be responded to accordingly.
