It is important to Tufcot that all our employees receive environmental training.

Our main aim is that everyone at Tufcot is environmentally aware and we encourage all staff to be involved in Tufcot’s effort to reduce our environmental footprint.

The training in 2022 included subjects such as worldwide pollution and how our own processes may affect the environment.

Following the training, we encourage staff to make suggestions on how we might be able to reduce our environmental impact.

We believe that employees working within the main manufacturing process have the best ideas because they work with the products every day and, therefore, they can see potential environmental impacts and then suggest potential improvements.

Employee Suggestions

Here are some of the suggestions we have received:

  • Using rainwater for part of our material cleaning process
  • Planting trees
  • Overriding switches for the office with light sensors

  • Using heaters in specific areas for processes that need it but we don’t need to heat the full room

  • Changing heating settings to suit our manufacturing process

  • And many more production process suggestions that we have implemented

Wheel of Perks

As a thank-you for our employee’s environmental support, we roll the “Wheel of Perks” once a month.

The “Wheel of Perks” is rolled by the staff member who provided the best environmental suggestion or initiated a project that we have taken forward.

Prizes range from a half-day holiday to £50 vouchers.

We will be carrying out further environmental training for all employees later this year.

Thank you to all employees for supporting Tufcot’s efforts to reduce our environmental impact.
