Celebrating in Style!

Last year, we celebrated our 40th birthday on September the 13th 2021.

This year, we are happy to celebrate our 41st birthday.

Last year we had a few events, all of which surprised Elvin, our owner and included: a specially made cake, a Cuban themed birthday party, birthday lunch boxes, plus many more events, some of which can be seen here.

This year, we have organised for every employee to receive a specially made lunch box by local caterers, Supreme Grazing. This is just a small treat and an additional thanks to all our amazing employees.

A huge thanks to everyone who has contributed to Tufcot’s amazing journey.

We wouldn’t be in such a positive position, for now and the future, if it wasn’t for everyone’s collective hard work over the 41 years.

41 Years of Milestones

In the 41 years we have had some key moments, so here is a short timeline of the big events, over the years:

  • 1981 – The Company Is Launched
Elvin, Micheal and Len form Tufcot, in Elvin’s garage, with just 1 manufacturing machine.
  • 1982 – Our First Premises
Tufcot buy their first site, in Hackenthorpe, Sheffield, UK. With 3 machines and the 3 Directors, the company starts its growth!
  • 1985 – Reinvestment Allows Us To Move To A Larger Site
The company has continued to grow and re-invest. With 8 machines, 7 employees and a new site, this time rented in Sheffield, UK.

  • 1996 – Our First Purchased Premises
The Directors can now buy their own premises, again at the home of the Made in Sheffield branding. The site is 15,000 square feet and now Tufcot has 30 machines and 15/20 employees.
  • 2012 – We Move To Today’s Premises (Our Largest Investment Yet)
The largest investment yet by the Directors, to our current site, with 35,000 square feet of space, 85 machines and 35 employees.

  • 2014 – Elvin Takes 100% Ownership Of The Company
Elvin, the current Owner/Chairman, takes 100% ownership of Tufcot.
  • 2021 – Our Best Year To Date (Despite Challenging Circumstances)
Tufcot records our best ever year, after navigating Brexit, the pandemic and a financial crisis in 2007. The company now employs 50 people and has over 120 machines!

Reinvesting In The Company & Our Staff

Since the start, Elvin’s approach has always been to re-invest in new machinery, develop new product and material ranges, and most importantly, invest in our employees. Our employees are key to any future growth and success.

By working alongside a number of customers for over 35 years, we have managed to create a sustainable growth trend and we hope it continues for many years to come.

Thanks to all our friends, customers, employees and suppliers for making Tufcot what it is today, 41 years later.
